• Approximately 70 percent of the 1.3 billion people who live on $1 a day are women.

•  More women between the ages of 15 and 44 die due to gender-based violence than cancer, malaria, car accidents    and war combined.

•  About 90 million girls around the world are deprived of primary education.

Welcome to Soroptimist Dallas !  

We are a 501(c)(3) volunteer service organization of business and professional women with the mission to improve the lives of women and girls in our community and the world. 

Soroptimist provides working women the means to do service, make new friends, have fun, and still "have a life".  The name Soroptimist comes from two Latin words meaning "best for women" and that is the focus of our volunteer efforts.

We perform service through projects unique to our club to help meet our community's needs. See SERVICE pages.   We also participate in programs sponsored by our parent organizations, Soroptimist International of the Americas (SIA) and Soroptimist International (SI). 

Soroptimists work through service projects to advance human rights and the status of women. We come from a wide diversity of cultures and circumstances. We are all, however, dedicated to a unity of ideals and objectives:

• the advancement of the status of women
• high ethical standards
• human rights for all
• equality, development and peace through international goodwill and understanding and friendship
